In brief: Coronation event tonight at WVHS
WEST VALLEY – The Miss Spokane Valley Coronation will be held tonight at West Valley High School. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7.
Tickets are $20 per person, $10 for students and senior citizens, and children ages 5 and younger are free. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
Proceeds will benefit the Miss Spokane Valley Ambassadors scholarship program.

Mauchley Duo piano concert tonight
SPOKANE VALLEY – The Steinway Piano Gallery, 13418 E. Nora Ave., will feature Jay and Sandy Mauchley, also known as “Mauchley Duo” tonight at 7:30 p.m.
The husband and wife piano team are retired professors from the University of Idaho. They have performed throughout the United States, including the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., and the American Liszt Society Festival in San Francisco. The couple will perform works by Bach, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, and Stravinsky at tonight’s concert.
The event is free and open to the public.

‘SeussOdyssey’ auditions planned
LIBERTY LAKE – The Liberty Lake Community Theatre will hold auditions for “SuessOdyssey” on May 6 at 6:30 p.m. and May 8 at 3 p.m. at the theater, 1421 Meadowwood Lane, Suite 130. All ages are encouraged to audition and no experience is necessary.
“SuessOdyssey” is a fun parody of Homer’s Odyssey, transformed into the style of Dr. Seuss, complete with a singing Cyclops and the sorceress Circe serving up crew members with a side of green eggs.

Area food bank announces hours
FAIRFIELD – The North Palouse Community Food Bank has announced its hours of operation for May and June. It will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on May 8 and 22 and June 5 and 26. It will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. May 13 and June 17.
The food bank is supported by community donations and serves the communities of Fairfield, Rockford, Latah and Waverly. It is located behind the Fairfield fire station on North Railroad Street.
