In brief: Kid’s Community Day next Sunday

COEUR D’ALENE/RATHDRUM/ POST FALLS – Real Life Ministries will host Kid’s Community Day 2010 next Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m.

The day includes a bounce house and games, snow cones and a barbecue and beverages. To help get kids ready for school, there will be free haircuts, free kids’ clothing and free school backpacks available.

The event will be held at Canfield Middle School, 1800 E. Dalton Ave. in Coeur d’Alene; Lakeland High School, 7006 W. Highway 53 in Rathdrum; and Real Life Ministries, buildings two and three, 1866 N. Cecil Road in Post Falls.

Silver Mountain beer fest Saturday

KELLOGG/SILVER MOUNTAIN – The 17th annual “BrewsFEST” will be at Silver Mountain on Saturday.

New members join NIC board

COEUR D’ALENE – The North Idaho College Foundation Board of Directors recently announced its new members appointed to the 2010-’11 board.

The new members include Art Elliot and CJ Buck. Elliot is the president, treasurer and chief executive officer of Shelter Associates Inc, a custom residential, remodeling and commercial general contracting firm in Coeur d’Alene. He has served as chairman of the Idaho Contractors Registration Board in addition to serving on several committees for the National Association of Home Builders, the Coeur d’Alene Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Jobs Plus Board.

Buck has served as president of Buck Knives Inc. since 1999. He also serves on the Idaho Economic Advisory Council and the American Knife and Tool Institute board.
