Cold storage facility rebuilt

Empire Cold Storage’s facility in east Spokane has been rebuilt and is back in use after a fire severely damaged the building in December 2008.

Fisher & Sons General Contractors based in Burlington, Wash., recently completed reconstruction of the freezer unit at 3857 E. Olive Way.

The fire sent a column of smoke high into the air on a clear, cold day. Firefighters had to brave icy pavement and snow to stop the blaze from spreading.
