In brief: Community theater performs Friday
LIBERTY LAKE – The Liberty Lake Community Theatre will perform “Three Chairs and the Truth” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The theater’s improv comedy troupe will make its first official performance of the season.
Admission is free. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Auditions for “BurgerTown,” the theater’s first musical, will be held next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 28 at 3 p.m.
Auditions are open to performers 15 and older. No experience or preparation is necessary. Participants will be asked to sing.

Chamber August business breakfast planned
LIBERTY LAKE – The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the August Business Connections Breakfast at the new Meadowwood Technology Campus, 21000 N. Molter Road, on Friday.
Networking with business exhibitors will begin at 6:30 a.m. and breakfast, along with the program, themed Progress in Liberty Lake will start at 7 a.m.
Featured speaker Liberty Lake Mayor Wendy Van Orman will give a state of the city address and graduates of the Summer NxLevel Entrepreneur Program, held at Valley Chamber Business Center at Liberty Lake, will be honored. Tours of the facilities at Meadowwood Technology Campus will follow the breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
The community is invited to attend the breakfast. Tickets are $25 per person. Reservations are requested by today.

NORTHWEST – The Spokane Youth Symphony will perform at Audubon Park next Thursday at 6 p.m. as the first concert in its 61st season. The concert will feature the Spokane Youth Orchestra and the Junior Symphonic Orchestra.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Northwest Neighborhood Association.
Submit design for 2011 Bloomsday T-shirt
SPOKANE – The Lilac Bloomsday Association, in cooperation with The Inlander, is currently accepting designs for the 2011 Bloomsday finisher T-shirt. The Lilac Bloomsday Association will pay $1,000 for the design selected.

BMX track will be closed some Saturdays
SPOKANE – The BMX track at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex, 5901 N. Assembly St., will be closed Saturday ; Sept. 4, 18; Oct. 2, 16 and 30 for BMX races. The track is open from 1 to 7 p.m. daily.
