Briefs: Tips sought in Regal fire

A fire on the morning of Aug. 20 destroyed Regal Elementary School’s playground structure.

According to a press release from Spokane Public Schools, the Spokane Fire Department responded to a call at the school at 1:48 a.m. The fire melted the plastic climbing wall and slides and damaged the connecting equipment. The play structure is valued at nearly $41,000.

Anyone who may have information about the Regal playground fire is asked to call (509) 354-SAFE.

Golf Scramble

The North Central High School Booster Club’s third annual Golf Scramble is scheduled for Sept. 11 at Downriver Golf course. A shot gun start will be at 1:30 p.m.

Cost is $75 per person or $300 for a foursome and includes a registration packet, greens fees, a cart and banquet.
