Spokane Mayor Mary Verner has ordered flags on city-owned buildings to be flown at half-staff on Thursday in honor of King Cole, president of Expo ’74.
Cole died Sunday at the age of 88.
“He was such an influential leader in this community,” said Verner, who plans to attend Cole’s memorial service. “His impact on Spokane is indelible.”
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1517 E. 33rd Ave. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at the same location.
