Stabbing followed night of drinking, police say

A 39-year-old man was stabbed this morning in a fight while drinking with a new acquaintance at a North Side apartment, police said. The man, who was taken to a local hospital, had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Matthew Blizzard, 32, was booked on a second-degree assault charge in the 4:15 a.m. incident in the 6600 block of North Addison Street. The two men had just met earlier in the night, police said. A woman with them was not injured.
