Eastern Washington Eagles
RECORD: 6-18 overall, 2-8 Big Sky
COMING UP: Friday vs. Montana State, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday vs. Montana, 1:05 p.m.
OUTLOOK: A weekend sweep of Montana State and Montana is a near-must if the Eagles hope to qualify for the Big Sky Tournament and end their four-year postseason drought. Working in EWU’s favor is the fact they beat Montana State 75-73 on the road earlier this season. But the Eagles haven’t won since then, and head into Friday night’s rematch on a season-long seven-game losing streak. Montana, which beat the Eagles handily in Missoula, features one of the Big Sky’s top scorers and a leading conference player-of-the year candidate in senior guard Anthony Johnson, who averages 17.9 ppg.
