St. John-Endicott avenges loss

Kelly Van Lith scored a game-high 17 points and St. John-Endicott avenged a late regular-season loss to Rosalia by beating the visiting Spartans (13-9) 59-39 in the second round of the District 9 1B tournament Friday.

Losing to Rosalia cost the Eagles (19-2) a shot at a league title, but this time the Eagles put things out of reach early, outscoring Rosalia 36-16 in the first half.

Colton 80, LaCrosse-Washtucna 35: Kelsey Moser scored 11 of her 26 points in the first quarter and the Wildcats (20-1) made quick work of the Tigercats (8-14) to advance to the title game against St. John-Endicott on Friday at Endicott.

LaCrosse-Washtucna will play Tri-Cities Prep and Touchet will play Rosalia on Monday at Endicott in loser-out games.

Great Northern

Pullman 60, Deer Park 36: Katie Guettinger had 11 points and eight steals and Danielle Hodge scored 12 points as the Greyhounds (14-4, 11-1) jumped out to a 23-10 lead in the first quarter and never let up, pulling away for the win over the Stags (15-3, 2-10) in Pullman.

Medical Lake 35, Colville 30: Kylie Tareski scored eight points and closed the third quarter with a pair of 3-pointers to give the Cardinals (6-12, 5-7) the lead for good over the Indians (10-7, 5-6) in Medical Lake.

District 7 1A

Freeman 45, Newport 27: MacKenzie Taylor scored 14 points with 14 rebounds and six assists and the Scotties (19-2) held the Grizzlies (11-11) to 16 points through three quarters to advance to the tournament title game against Lakeside at 8 p.m. Friday at Mead HS. Newport will play Kettle Falls in a loser-out game at 5 p.m.

Lakeside (WA) 52, Kettle Falls 33: Leslie Stillar had 14 points and eight rebounds and Alex Daggy added 14 boards as the Eagles (19-2) outscored the Bulldogs (12-10) 19-3 in the second quarter to build a 16-point lead by halftime at Mead.

Bi-County 2B tourney

Colfax 57, Reardan 46: Kayla Johnson had 15 points and the Bulldogs (19-3) took the league tournament title with their win over the Indians (18-4) in Reardan.

Northwest Christian 44, Lind-Ritzville 41: Danne Dame scored 10 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter and gave the Crusaders (12-11) the lead for good over the Broncos (13-10), scoring a three-point play with the score tied 41-41. NWC advances to districts as the No. 3 seed and L-R as No. 4.

Liberty 47, Valley Christian 31: Teara Cornmesser and Kelly Hennessey combined for 24 points and the Lancers (12-10) held the Panthers (8-14) to 21 points in the final three quarters to earn the win in Reardan and earn a district berth while VC was eliminated.

District 9 North

Tekoa-Oakesdale 50, Pomeroy 37: Alexandria Overton scored 20 points and Desiree Chappell notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Nighthawks (10-10, 4-2) outlasted the visiting Pirates (7-11, 2-4) in a league finale.
