Three things we’ll be talking about this week
1 The Winter Olympics from Vancouver, B.C., enter their final week, with events winding down to the medal game in men’s hockey on Sunday, followed by the closing ceremonies. Between now and then, we’ll see medals awarded in ice dancing and ladies figure skating, women’s hockey, curling, speed skating, cross-country skiing and ski jumping, among many others.
2 Bruce Willis is back in police mode in the new comedy “Cop Out,” opening in theaters on Friday. When Willis’ baseball card collection is stolen, he turns to his partner, Tracy Morgan, to help retrieve it. The film is directed by Kevin Smith (“Clerks,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”), who needs this film to be a success. After all, he probably won’t be flying Southwest again anytime soon.
3 The Zags begin their final home stand of the season, hosting Santa Clara and San Francisco this week at The Kennel in WCC men’s basketball action. The Dons, in particular, can expect a tough time of it at McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday, after handing the Bulldogs a loss on the road last month.
