One dead in Spokane attack

Early morning gunfire left a man dead in today in Spokane, police said.
The victim, identified only as a male in his late 30s, was found about 3:40 a.m. in an alley in the 5400 block of North Crestline after authorities were alerted to several gunshots in the area, according to the Spokane Police Department. The man had been shot and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Detectives with the department’s major crimes and gang enforcement divisions are investigating the attack.
