Three things we’ll be talking about this week

1. If you’re thinking we’ll be talking about the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, you’re right. The event continues into this weekend with the ladies and the ice dancers. Festivities wrap up Sunday with a skating exhibition featuring U.S. gold medal-winning skaters, from Dick Button to Sarah Hughes, with stops at Scott Hamilton, Dorothy Hamill and Peggy Fleming in between.

2. At the movies this weekend, it’ll be Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser in “Extraordinary Measures,” Paul Bettany and Dennis Quaid in “Legion,” and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and (yes) Julie Andrews in “The Tooth Fairy.” A medical drama, an end-of-times horror flick and a family-friendly comedy. A little something for everyone.

3. Fans of all things culinary have some tasty tidbits on the menu this week. First up on Wednesday is a Community Hawaiian Luau Dinner at the Southside Senior Activity Center in Spokane. On Saturday, our stomachs lead us to the annual Festival of Foodies at Spokane Community College, and the annual Wild Game Feast at North Idaho College. Bon appétit!
