Hiker falls to his death near Snoqualmie Pass

SEATTLE – A 38-year-old Seattle man died while hiking in the Cascades Mountains near Snoqualmie Pass.

Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff’s Department said the man, whose name has not been released, appears to have fallen to his death down a steep slope on the trail to Mason Lake.

The man had been reported missing by his sister on Tuesday after he did not return from a one-day camping trip. His body was recovered by a sheriff’s office helicopter on Wednesday afternoon.
