Construction starts on Kendall Yards
Ide Avenue west of Monroe Street is closed to traffic starting Thursday until an undetermined date due to development of the Kendall Yards site.
The road will be closed to traffic from Monroe to Cedar streets. Parking in the dirt lot just north of Ide also will not be allowed during the construction.
Greenstone Corp. bought the Kendall Yards site from previous owners last year, and announced new, less dense, less expensive plans for the 78-acre property on the north bank of the Spokane River.
In April, the company said it would begin development of the first of 18 units planned for the $25 million residential and commercial project. The townhouses should be ready by the end of summer, Greenstone officials said previously.
