Rescuers aid injured climber

PORTLAND – A Clackamas County sheriff’s officer said a Vancouver, Wash., man injured in a 200-foot fall on Oregon’s Mount Hood has been rescued.

Detective Jim Strovink said 25-year-old Bryan Daniel Call reportedly suffered a fractured leg and an elbow injury. After a rescue team brought him safely to Timberline Lodge at the base of the mountain late Wednesday afternoon, he was transported to a Portland hospital.

Strovink said fellow climbers reported the fall Wednesday morning and stayed with the injured man until help reached the 9,000-foot level in the early afternoon.
