Phoenix wheels and deals

The Phoenix Suns have acquired forwards Hedo Turkoglu and Josh Childress in trades with the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks, respectively.

Phoenix sent guard Leandro Barbosa and forward Dwayne Jones to Toronto while shipping their 2010 second-round draft pick to Atlanta.

Turkoglu spent one disappointing season in Toronto, averaging 11.3 points after being named the NBA’s most improved player with Orlando the year before.

Childress has played the past two seasons in Greece. The 6-8, 210-pound former Stanford player is a career 52-percent shooter.

Harrington says he’s headed to Denver

Free agent power forward Al Harrington says he’s headed to the Nuggets, who are in dire need of frontcourt help with Kenyon Martin, Chris Andersen and Nene coming off leg injuries.

Harrington would make about $5.8 million next year with the midlevel exception and more than $33 million over the next five years.

Timberwolves agree

to deal with Ridnour

The Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to a four-year, $16 million deal with free agent point guard Luke Ridnour, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told the Associated Press.

Ridnour had 10.4 points and 4.0 assists per game in Milwaukee last season.

76ers sign No. 2

overall pick Turner

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed No. 2 overall draft pick Evan Turner.

Turner averaged 20.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists while leading Ohio State into the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.Turner will be paid at least $3,835,600 in the first year of his deal.

Udoh to miss 6 months after wrist surgery

The Golden State Warriors say top draft pick Ekpe Udoh will miss six months after undergoing surgery on his injured left wrist.

He was selected sixth overall out of Baylor.
