Tug of war added to Highland Games
SPOKANE VALLEY – The 2010 Spokane Highland Games, Aug. 7 at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, will have a new “twist” to the annual competition.
Members of Spokane’s Irish community and Spokane’s Scottish community will get to show off their strength in the first official – friendly – game of tug of war. The St. Andrew’s Society has formally challenged the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and the Spokane Limerick Sister City Society; the battle will take place during the games.
