Discussed Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown said on Monday that the team has discussed a contract with receiver Terrell Owens and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The Bengals passed on the chance to sign the 36-year-old receiver after a tryout, but have given it more thought now that he remains a free agent.

Reported An NFL spokesman says there has been no change in Michael Vick’s playing status, so the Eagles quarterback reported to training camp as expected. Vick reiterated that he has done nothing wrong.

Official The Toronto Raptors have officially signed free agent Linas Kleiza to a multiyear contract. The Raptors acquired the rights to Kleiza nine days ago when the Denver Nuggets opted not to match Toronto’s offer sheet. Kleiza played with Greek club Olympiakos last year after four seasons in Denver.

Hired Former Wimbledon champion Roger Federer has hired Pete Sampras’ former coach to help him work on returning to his winning ways. Federer said on his website that he has “decided to spend some days” with Paul Annacone.

Signed The Nashville Predators have signed defenseman Ryan Parent to a two-year, $1.85 million contract. The team announced the deal with the 23-year-old Parent, who was acquired from Philadelphia in June in exchange for Dan Hamhuis. He will make $850,000 in 2010-11 and $1 million in 2011-12.

Avoided The Vancouver Canucks have avoided arbitration with Mason Raymond by signing the forward to a two-year, $5.1 million contract. Raymond set career highs with 25 goals and 53 points last season, earning $760,000. Raymond will receive $2.5 million next season and $2.6 million in 2011-12.

Resigning Former Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe is resigning as receivers coach at Texas A&M to tend to family medical issues, and former NFL player Troy Walters is taking his place.
