FCC reassigned band width
Starting June 12, users of wireless microphones or similar equipment will have to stop using the 700 MHz band width because the Federal Communications Commission has reassigned it to emergency service providers for radio and data transmission.
Continued use of that band can cause interference with communications for emergency service providers, a news release from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department said.
Common users of such wireless microphones include theaters, churches, schools and conference centers. Users will need to retune or replace their equipment prior to the federally designated deadline, the release said.
