Two arrested after man, girl attacked
Spokane Valley police arrested two young men after a man was stabbed in the shoulder and a teen girl was hit in the neck with the handle of a hammer.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening, authorities said.
The assault occurred about 4 p.m. Monday at a home in the 4700 block of North Progress Road, according to police. The suspects fled in separate cars but were stopped on Upriver Drive by a deputy who drew his gun on them.
Deputy Ron Nye detained the suspects while awaiting backup.
Cousteau C. Wright, 21, has been charged with felony first-degree assault. John P. Ledoux, also 21, has been charged with felony second-degree assault.
