Applicants sought for planning panel

Spokane County commissioners are recruiting for a pending vacancy on the county Planning Commission. Applicants must live in commissioner District 1, which includes unincorporated areas in the northern part of the county and portions of the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley. The vacancy will occur July 11, when Peter Ice’s four-year term expires. Ice is eligible for one more term, but the unpaid position will be open to all comers. The seven-member Planning Commission, which advises county commissioners on land-use decisions, generally meets monthly. Applications will be accepted until 1 p.m. July 2. Forms are available at the commissioners’ office in the county courthouse at 1116 W. Broadway Ave. or by clicking on the “Boards and Commissions” link on the county website.
