No shame for Ohno

The Spokesman-Review

Donald Stone of Cheney (Letters, Feb. 28) heaps shame and embarrassment on Olympic athlete Apolo Ohno. He decries Ohno’s lack of patriotism for looking at his feet and not putting his hand on his heart when the national anthem was played while he was on the podium for the medal presentation.

Too bad neither Ohno, nor any other American short track skater for that matter, won a gold medal. Then they would have played our national anthem. You know, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Mr. Stone, your baseless complaint is a disgrace to every “true American,” Olympian or not.
