Vandals hit recreation site

The Bureau of Land Management is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the individuals responsible for the theft of a door and picnic table from the Gamlin Lake recreation area about six miles south of Sandpoint. Vandals stole the steel door to a vault toilet, an eight-foot picnic table, the chain and cement block used to secure the table, and two seats from a nearby table. Replacing the stolen items will cost about $3,200, said Eric Thomson, a BLM field manager.
