Gonzaga loses to Pacific
Marcus Pointer held Gonzaga to one run on three hits in pitching the University of the Pacific to a 6-1 victory on Thursday in the Irish Baseball Classic at San Antonio, Texas.
Pointer, 4-0 with a 1.72 ERA, went the distance, walking one and striking out six for the Tigers (8-4).
Sean Wilson drove in Cameron Edman in the third inning for Gonzaga’s lone run.
Cody Martin (1-1) took the loss, pitching six innings, giving up seven hits and five runs, while wallking three and striking out four.
Gonzaga (5-6) plays Bradley in the tournament today.

The Spokane Shock added wide receiver Eddie Thompson to their roster. Thompson was an all-conference selection in the three years he played for Idaho State (2005-07).
