Two North Side garage fires put out blocks apart

The Spokesman-Review
Spokane firefighters on Wednesday night were dispatched to two garage fires just blocks apart in a little more than an hour, and investigators were calling them suspicious this morning. The first fire was reported at 10:24 p.m. in the 4904 N. Lee St. in a single-car, wood-frame garage. The fire extended to a nearby motor home. Damage was estimated at $12,000. At 11:44 p.m., fire crews returned to the neighborhood for the second fire in a two-car, wood-frame garage at 4708 N. Cook St., firefighters said. The loss was estimated at $20,000. Both fires were under investigation this morning and considered suspicious because of the proximity and times.
