In brief: Arbor Crest plans fundraiser

PASADENA PARK – Arbor Crest Wine Cellars on Fruit Hill Road will host “The Pour,” a fundraiser for Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital, at 6 p.m. June 5.

The event will include an auction of vintage wines by local winemakers and a five-course gourmet meal prepared by local chefs.

Tickets are $150 per person.

Area Scouts vie for award

SPOKANE – The Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America announced its 100th National Hall of Leadership nominees.

Area nominees include Barry Rettkowski, an Eagle Scout in Spokane Valley; Chris Montgomery, Scoutmaster of Troop 921 in Colville, Wash.; Craig Brockus, an Eagle Scout in Sandpoint; Howard Pettibone, Scoutmaster of Troop 367 in Spokane; John Linch, a volunteer from Priest River, Idaho; John McNamara, a volunteer with Troop 444 in Pullman; Kevin Tsuchida, a Boy Scout in Troop 348, of Spokane; Michel Hunt of Spokane and scoutmaster of Troop 348; Rich Kendall, volunteer in Spokane Valley; Ronald McIntire, volunteer in Hayden Lake, Idaho; Samuel Brubaker, an Eagle Scout from Troop 413 in Liberty Lake; and Thomas Swartz of Coeur d’Alene. He became an Eagle Scout rank at age 14 from Troop 228 and continues to volunteer.
