NFL Notes: Young wasn’t banned
Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher says though he had an assistant tell Vince Young not to attend a team meeting, the quarterback has not been banned from the team’s headquarters.
Young needs season-ending surgery, and Fisher said that involves inserting a pin to help the flexor tendon heal.
Fisher said Young is on injured reserve, and that such players are permitted in the building. Players on injured reserve work with team trainers on their rehabilitation.
“There’s been speculation he was banned from the building. That was not correct,” said Fisher on Tuesday.
No settlement in Favre investigation
The manager for the woman at the center of the NFL’s investigation of Brett Favre said that the quarterback’s agent asked about paying her to keep quiet.
Favre’s agent Bus Cook said in a statement that Jenn Sterger’s camp made “numerous overtures” to him. He said he believes money has been the motivation for the former New York Jets game emcee.
Joe Conway, Sterger’s attorney, said he called Cook once to introduce himself and followed up with a letter. “It’s not about money. It’s about doing the right thing,” Conway said in a phone interview.
