In brief: Caregivers class offered Monday

RIVERSIDE – Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St., will hold a class for caregivers on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The class will give participants information on how to take care of themselves to avoid burnout; how to prepare for legal and other planning issues, often connected with care giving and illness; how to communicate with doctors and billing offices, and with friends and family members; and how spiritual issues play a role in being a caregiver. Haunted Pavilion starts Oct. 15

RIVERSIDE – Beginning Oct. 15, Riverfront Park and IGNITE! Community Theater team up for the third annual Haunted Pavilion and will give all who enter a good scare.

It will offer a Kids Zone straw-bale maze, food vendors, the SR-2 Scream Machine, Ghostly Golf and a haunted house.

A full night’s spook includes admission to the haunted house, one ride on the SR-2 Scream Machine, nine holes of Ghostly Golf and a choice of an IMAX movie or one session of ice skating for $16 for adults and $14 for students. Admission to the haunted house is $8 for adults and $6 for students.
