Drivers strike woman’s body on Highway 28

A woman’s body was hit twice on state Highway 28 near Quincy, Wash.

A driver called 911 to report that he hit something with his car in the 13000 block of Highway 28 early Wednesday.

Police said he had hit the body of a woman who had been left for dead by another driver in a hit-and-run.

When Grant County sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers arrived, they found the body of a woman and closed the highway to investigate.

Police say other suspicious circumstances surround the case, and it remains under investigation.

The identity of the woman will not be released until the next of kin are notified, deputies said.
