Spokane stabbing suspect held on bond

A Spokane man accused of stabbing another man in the head during a fight early Wednesday will remain jailed on $100,000 bond.

Jarreau S. “Sweaty” Squetimkin, 26, was arrested near 2821 N. Cincinnati St., where police say he stabbed Kenneth Barton in the left side of the head about 1:30 a.m.

Barton, who was treated and released at a hospital, told police Squetimkin burst into his home with another man and demanded money at knife point.

One witness, Audrey O’Grady, told police the second suspect, who has not been arrested, pinned Barton to a chair while holding a folding knife, then punched him about 20 times, according to court documents.

Police spotted Squetimkin walking with O’Grady near Nevada and Dalton streets and booked him into jail on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and first-degree burglary. Superior Court Judge Michael Price on Wednesday set his bond at $100,000.

CORRECTION: A police report from Squetimkin’s arrest incorrectly stated he was walking with victim Audrey O’Grady at the time of his arrest. In fact, O’Grady was with police in a squad car when they spotted Squetimkin.
