New faces

Dr. Alison Granier has joined North Idaho Eye Institute in the practice of general ophthalmology, with a special interest in pediatrics and oculoplastics. She is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine and recently completed ophthalmology- surgical training at the University of California, Davis.

Community Colleges of Spokane has hired Tony Higley as executive director. He has more than 30 years of fundraising experience, has served on the CCS Foundation’s board of directors since 2005 and has been owner and president of Certified Appraisal Inc. since 1991. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Gonzaga University. CCS has also hired Julie Lockhart as manager of development for the CCS Foundation. She previously worked for the Inland Northwest Blood Center as a recruitment coordinator and for First American Title Co. in Coeur d’Alene as a marketing and events coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies/psychology/ communications from Lewis-Clark State College, Coeur d’Alene.

Mike Wilson has been hired by Inland Northwest Bank as a special assets officer. He has several years of commercial and investment real estate experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Montana State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University, Chicago.

The Spokane Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Dana Haynes as communications director. She previously worked as an anchor and reporter for KHQ Television since 1996. She is a graduate of Washington State University and is the owner and sole proprietor of Dandles Candles.

Promotion

Sara Ascol has been promoted to an account service representative for InCyte Pathology. She previously worked in the client services department and has been with the company since 2007.

Kudos

The Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts recognized Lee Mellish for outstanding service to Liberty Lake Sewer and Water District and the industry. Mellish is the general manager for Liberty Lake Sewer and Water District.

Lesa Webb has earned National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification. Webb is an interior designer for ALSC Architects of Spokane.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has named Kimball Office in Post Falls as one of its “Pollution Prevention Champions.” The office furniture and equipment wholesale company was recognized for its efforts to protect the environment.

Jeff Carter was selected as a van operator of the month for June by United Van Lines in the Continental Fleet, western region category. Carter works for Chipman Moving and Storage Inc. in Spokane.

Appointed

Mobius Science Center appointed Eric Miller as director of exhibitions. Miller previously served as director of exhibitions for The Imaginarium in Anchorage, Alaska. He is a painter and holds a bachelor’s degree in fine and applied arts from the University of Oregon. The center also appointed Anna Marlis Burgard as director of advancement. She previously served as director of industry partnerships at the Savannah College of Art and Design and has extensive fund development, marketing and design experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and is a published author.
