In brief: Valley Partners hosts golf scramble

LIBERTY LAKE – Spokane Valley Partners will have its 13th annual golf scramble on July 21 and is looking for interested golfers.

The scramble will be played at MeadowWood Golf Course with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Dinner will follow the annual game.

Costs include $100 for an individual golfer; $400 for a team of four; $100 per tee or green sponsor; and $200 for a tee and green sponsor.

Drop off unwanted medicine today

SPOKANE VALLEY – Residents can rid their homes of unwanted and potentially dangerous prescription medications today at the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day celebration, held at the Spokane Valley Police Precinct, 12710 E. Sprague Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meals on Wheels planning sale

SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels will hold its seventh annual rummage sale May 12 through May 14 at the Opportunity Center, 12103 E. Sprague Ave.

Sale times include 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 12; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 13; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 14. Items will be half-price on May 14.

Proceeds will help pay for the meals program.

Volleyball camp at Central Valley

VERADALE – The VIP Juniors “Little Spikers” volleyball camp will be at Central Valley High School on May 15 and May 22 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The camp, for kids ages 4 to 8, will introduce players to the fundamental skills of volleyball through instruction, fun games and activities from the VIP coaching staff.

Cost is $30 per person and T-shirts will be given to all participants.
