Satellite retailer adds PCs, cellphones to list of services
A longtime area television satellite retailer has expanded his business and tech support to include cellphone plans and computer repair and recently opened a store in Spokane Valley.
“I have three services here that are nearly recession proof,” Darryl Burnett said about the items and services he offers at Boost/PC Tune, at 12510 E. Sprague Ave..
The longtime Dish Network retailer and installer said his TV plans as well as Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile cell phoneplans (for both of which Sprint is the parent company) are priced for those seeking optimal service at competitive prices. Plus, he notes people nowadays are more likely to seek repair of a computer when viable rather than opt for a pricey new one.
He also sells Virgin Mobile phones, cellphone and computer accessories, and is a bill-paying station for the cell plans.
Burnett is a retired postal employee and self-proclaimed tech junkie who in the late 1980s wanted to learn more about what was to come and sought a job with the cable company at the time, TCI.
Over the years, he also became familiar with up-to-date in-home services for the deaf, as his parents are deaf. He gained valuable experience wiring their home with advanced technologies.
At Boost/PC Tune, Burnett offers computer repair at his store as well as in-home service. He partners with Post Falls, Idaho-based PC Tune Computer Solutions owner Roger Lindblom. Burnett repairs computer equipment at his store, while Lindblom typically will work on the in-home/office computer needs.
Burnett said his store is beginning to get noticed. He does stay busy, as he also works part-time for UPS before his store opens, and he continues the installation services for Dish Network customers.
“I’m into those things that help advance people, to make their lives easier, to get the job done quicker.”
