This is patriotism?

Rick Perry (George W. Bush Redux) has just entered the 2012 presidential race and in a matter of days is already questioning President Barack Obama’s “love for this country.” Take Mr. Obama on for his politics and his policies, but questioning his patriotism? That’s like saying a mother doesn’t love her child when making hard choices to get them through difficult times.

Gov. Perry suggested that Texas should secede from the U.S. in 2009. That’s love of country?

In 2009, he rejected $555 million in unemployment benefits from the federal stimulus for Texas.

He has suggested that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme and states should be allowed to abandon it.

Gov. Perry has had a long-standing feud with the Environmental Protection Agency in Texas, wanting to ease regulations for corporations on air and water quality.

Is it “love of country” or “love of corporations” that Mr. Perry embodies?
