Eighth-ranked Whitworth falls to No. 16 Wisconsin-Whitewater

SAN ANTONIO – Chris Davis scored 22 points and 16th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater shot 71 percent from the field in the second half to top No. 8 Whitworth 76-61 on Wednesday at the Trinity University national invitational tournament.

Whitworth (7-2) ended the first half with a 7-0 run, including five points from Idris Lasisi, to lead 33-24.

The Pirates led 41-36 when the Warhawks (10-1) went on a 14-3 run, capped by Alex Merg’s 3-pointer.

Lasisi finished with a game-high 25 points. Felix Friedt had 14 points and a nine rebounds for Whitworth.
