In brief: Armed, masked man robs clinic pharmacy
Spokane police are looking for a man who robbed at gunpoint a pharmacy packed with customers Thursday.
The man entered the Spokane Falls Clinic at 120 W. Mission Ave., brandished a gun and demanded an unidentified type of pills, according to a Spokane Police Department news release. The man fled with an unknown amount of prescription drugs and may have been picked up in a black, four-door Volvo with a white trunk.
Despite a quick response by nearby officers and interviews with more than a dozen witnesses at the scene, police were unable to locate the man.
The robber used a scarf to cover his face and was wearing gray pants and a blue hoodie.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.

Record number of eagles counted
A record 273 bald eagles were counted Thursday at Lake Coeur d’Alene, making this the best year ever to take in the annual Eagle Watch Week activities.
Bald eagles are gathering in record numbers at Wolf Lodge Bay to feast on spawning kokanee.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, which conducts the weekly surveys, the count likely is up because snow covering the trees impeded the previous count last Thursday by camouflaging the birds.
Eagle Watch Week runs through Sunday. To get there, drive east from Coeur d’Alene on Interstate 90 and take Wolf Lodge Exit 22. Follow Highway 97 south a short way to exhibits and spotting scopes at the Mineral Ridge boat ramp (although windy conditions can prevent the BLM from setting up their equipment and exhibits). Volunteers will be on hand to offer information about the eagles from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.
