Ring in the New Year with worship, more

The Spokane Valley United Methodist Church will host a gathering tonight that is part New Year’s Eve party and part New Year’s Eve worship service.

The event begins at 4 p.m. today with volleyball in the gym, board games and children’s activities. A potluck supper will be served from 6 to 7 p.m. Those attending the supper are asked to bring a hot dish and a salad or dessert to share. The evening will close with a Wesleyan “Watch Night” worship service with Communion from 7 to 8 p.m.

The church is at 115 N. Raymond Road.

New Year’s Day

The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 15515 E. 20th Ave., will have a New Year’s Day service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Coffee and muffins will precede the service at 10 a.m.
