Spanning the city
If you ever wondered how many bridges there are in and around Riverfront Park, then Saturday’s third annual Spokane River Bridge Walk might be for you. The self-guided, 4.5-mile event takes walkers over 17 traffic and pedestrian bridges from Monroe Street east to the Gonzaga University campus. Spokane Falls are roaring from high runoff this spring. The event begins Saturday with an open start between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on the north side of the Monroe Street Bridge. Participants will receive a map and a bridge pin. Proceeds benefit Spokane parks and recreation programs.
