Religion Notebook: Gospel trio set to perform

Lincoln Heights Community Church, 3527 E. 29th Ave., will present gospel trio Blackwood Legacy, featuring Rick Price, on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The concert is free to attend, although donations will be accepted.

Summer schedule

Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., will start its summer worship schedule Sunday.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Sundays, and Sunday school and adult worship will begin at 10:15 a.m.

Volunteer opportunities

Catholic Charities of Spokane, 12 E. Fifth Ave., will present a volunteer information session Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Some of the programs looking for volunteers are Bernadette Place, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, Childbirth and Parenting Alone program, the Christmas Bureau, counseling, House of Charity, Parish Social Ministry, Refugee and Immigration Services, the regional offices, Respect Life, St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, St. Margaret’s Shelter, Senior and Family Housing and senior services.

Movie night

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present the movie “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” Friday at 7 p.m.

The movie, which stars Richard Gere, is based on a true story.

The film is free to attend and there will be free snacks. You do have to bring your own tissues.
