SPOKANE VALLEY – The Over the Hill Men’s Golf Club will host the season kickoff luncheon on March 28 at the Eagles Lodge of Spokane Valley, 16801 E. Sprague Ave., at noon. Lunch is complimentary to new members.

The Over The Hill Club is for area men of all skill levels, age 60 and older, who love to get out and golf.

Dues to join are $40. The first tee is April 1 at 7:30 a.m. at Liberty Lake Golf Course. The club plays Mondays, at Liberty Lake or MeadowWood at 7:30 a.m.

Sale of e-cigarettes to minors to be banned in Spokane area

SPOKANE – The Spokane Regional Health District will ban the sale of electronic cigarettes, to minors starting March 31 in Spokane, Spokane Valley and unincorporated Spokane County.

No person under the age of 18 may purchase, attempt to purchase, possess, or obtain e-cigarettes or their component parts. The electronic cigarettes and their component parts cannot be gifted, distributed, sold, transferred, marketed or offered to a minor. Violations of any provision are subject to monetary penalties, including a class 1 infraction with a penalty of $250 for vendors. Minors will face a class 3 violation with a penalty of $50. Both fines are subject to court costs and fees.

Electronic cigarettes, often made to look like regular cigarettes, are designed to deliver nicotine or other substances to a user in the form of a vapor that is inhaled. Arts, craft fair will be April 2 at Good Samaritan Center

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Good Samaritan Society will have an arts and crafts fair at the Good Samaritan Community Center, 17028 E. Eighth Ave., on April 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Multiple vendors will be selling their handmade and specialty crafts. Vendors may sign up to sell their merchandise. Cost is $35 per table. To sign up and for more information, call (509) 924-6161, ext. 650.

Liberty Lake Women’s golf group will meet March 29

LIBERTY LAKE – The Liberty Lake Women’s 18-Hole Golf Club will have its first meeting and registration for the 2011 season on May 29 at the Liberty Lake Golf Course clubhouse, beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

The Liberty Lake Women play Tuesday mornings. All skill levels are invited to play. Dues are $58 for members and $30 for associate members. Cost for the breakfast is $4.
