Spokane Junior Lilac Parade - 60th annual event and largest children’s parade in the nation, hosted by the Rotary Club of Spokane. This year’s theme is “Lights, Camera, Action.” The parade doubles as a competition for more than 8,000 middle and junior high school and elementary bands and drill teams along with multiple children’s organizations within the Inland Northwest. Musicfest Northwest Festival Week - The week-long festival attracts more than 1,000 entries every year. Nine divisions (Ballet, Brass, Flute, Guitar, Organ, Piano, Reeds, Strings and Voice) offer adjudicated classes for every skill level from elementary to post-graduate. Nationally renowned independently hired adjudicators give every participant valuable insight and encouragement in a master-class setting. Earn medals and awards. Eight division winners from our Young Artist Section win a cash award and perform with The Spokane Symphony in The Young Artist Concert on May 11. 2011 Young Artist Concert Musicfest Northwest - Young Artist winners from this year’s festival will perform with the Spokane Symphony, Eckart Preu Music Director, Morihiko Nakahara conducting.
