In brief: Ballots are due by Tuesday
SPOKANE VALLEY – If you haven’t yet decided who to vote for in next week’s election, you need to make up your mind soon.
Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday in order to be counted. Ballots also can be dropped off before closing Tuesday at the Spokane County Auditor’s Office at 1116 W. Broadway Ave., at the Spokane County Elections Office at 1033 W. Gardner Ave. or at a ballot drop-off box located at area libraries.
Church craft, holiday gift fair Sunday
SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Valley Adventist Church will host a craft fair Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church, 16th Avenue and Sullivan Road. There will also be food and holiday gifts. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Journey to the Cross outreach event in 2012. Admission to the fair is free.
Free dinner Monday for all veterans
SPOKANE VALLEY – Timber Creek Grill Buffet, 9211 E. Montgomery Ave., will host the second annual Timber Creek Military Thank You Dinner on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The event is open to all veterans and those on active duty in the military. All are invited to eat for free. The dinner celebration will include the local VFW honor guard presenting the colors and a welcome from Spokane Valley City Councilman Bill Gothmann.

Classes help you figure out the foxtrot
SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Department is offering dance classes during the winter season.
Each Wednesday, through Nov. 30, from 7:40 to 8:30 p.m., beginning dancers, ages 16 and up can learn the waltz, foxtrot or rumba in Beginning Partner Dances. Another four-week session will begin Dec. 5. Other classes starting Dec. 5 include Ballroom Classics, Swing Dance, and Latin and Night Club lessons.
