A hopper of a tale: Washington state Department of Fish and Wildlife research scientist Penny Becker releases a Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit into a burrow in a 10-acre enclosure in the Sagebrush Flat Wildlife Area in Central Washington on Thursday. The enclosure is fenced to keep land predators out and has netting covering their burrow and feeding areas to give them a little more safety from flying predators. The endangered rabbit was released along with 11 others that were bred in captivity at the Oregon Zoo. (Associated Press)
