Late score sends Carroll to semifinal

 HELENA – Junior running back Chance Demarais scored from 1 yard out with less than 2 minutes left Saturday to give Carroll College (12-1) at come-from-behind 17-14 victory over Azusa-Pacific (9-3) in a NAIA football quarterfinal.

 Saints linebacker Joe Dunning secured the victory with an interception.

 The Cougars led 14-7 after one quarter. Tom Yaremko made it 17-10 with a field goal in the second quarter.

 Demarais finished with 128 yards on 30 carries, also scoring the Saints’ other touchdown on a 14-yard run.

Saturday’s semifinals will have Georgetown (Ky.) at Carroll (11:07 a.m. PST) and St. Xavier (Ill.) at Marian (Ind.).
