DNR puts fire danger locally as ‘very high’

The state Department of Natural Resources has increased the fire danger rating in Spokane, Lincoln and Stevens counties to “very high,” effective at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. The rating in Pend Oreille County has been increased to “high.” A statewide burn ban has been in effect since July 1, and applies to all non-federal forest lands in Washington. Check campgrounds for any additional burning restrictions that may apply.
