The state Department of Natural Resources has increased the fire danger rating in Spokane, Lincoln and Stevens counties to “very high,” effective at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.
The rating in Pend Oreille County has been increased to “high.”
A statewide burn ban has been in effect since July 1, and applies to all non-federal forest lands in Washington. Check campgrounds for any additional burning restrictions that may apply.
