Remembering those who stepped up: Spokane Valley Fire Department had 37 people participate in the Spokane 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb at Chase Bank in Spokane on Sunday, including, Battalion Chief Brian Foster Dow, front, followed by Deputy Chief Andy Hail, Battalion Chief Andy Rorie and Battalion Chief Wayne Howerton. On each landing was a picture of the World Trade Center twin towers taken at various times on Sept. 11, 2011. “It was powerful,” Hail said.
