LOY, Shelley
On March 28, 2012, Shelley Jean Avery-Novak-Loy went peacefully with her Heavenly Father.
She was born June 12, 1951 in Spokane, Washington to Robert M. Avery and Virginia K. Balke-Avery.
Shelley grew up in Greenacres, Washington.
She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1969.
She went on to Kinman Business University.
In 1974 she and her then husband Robert Dean Novak Jr. bought their first home on the south side of the river in Post Falls/Coeur’d Alene.
Where they raised their three children.
She has resided for 38 years.
Shelley made sure she worked in Post Falls when her children were growing up.
She worked as an office administrator for a dental office and real estate offices.
She was an active member of the LDS church.
Her life revolved around her entire family especially her children and grandchildren.
She volunteered for the Booster Club and baseball committee while her children were in school.
She enjoyed fishing with her family.
She loved camping, huckleberry picking, gardening, growing flowers, sewing, canning, crocheting and reading.
She also loved to be on AOL where she met new people.
Everything Shelley did was for her family.
She was very kind, loving and giving to anyone who needed her help.
She would stop, drop and go for her grandchildren.
She was the best Grandma ever and an extremely creative woman who loved to do crafts.
She decorated her home with antiques she collected.
Shelley is survived by her loving companion Hank Black of Post Falls.
Her father Robert Avery and stepmother Violet Avery of Spokane.
Brother Mitchell Avery of Post Falls, ID.
Sister Candy Avery-Taylor of Greenacres, WA.
Brother Brian and Cheryl Avery of Spokane, WA.
Then her step siblings Laura Arthur of Everett, WA, Charlie and Patti Valdez of Kelso, WA, and Chuck and Sally Arthur of Issaquah, WA.
She is also survived by her three children, daughter, Rhonda Novak- Callaway and Bruce Cooper of Post Falls, ID.
Her sons, Dustin Novak of Coeur’d Alene, ID, Ryan and Heather Novak of Missoula, MT.
Importantly her 6 grandchildren, Colten Davis 21, of Williston ND, Nikolas Callaway, 14 and Alexis Callaway, 7, of Post Falls, ID., Tayler Whitcomb,12, Bridger Whitcomb,10, and Dylan Novak, 4 of Missoula, MT.
Nephews, Trapper Taylor and Wyatt Taylor.
Nieces, Lacey Avery and Ashley Ratliff.
Cousins, aunts, uncle and more nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Virginia Balke-Avery January 9, 2011.
A Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 at ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL in POST FALLS .
