Janet went to heaven on March 28, 2012 at the age of 64.

She was a wonderful person who bettered the world around her.

She was a dedicated worker and a tireless advocate for social service programs.

She is survived by husband Dan Bateson; daughter Lesli Ashley, son-in-law Kibbions Ashley; grandchildren, Nanesha, Jacob, Marcus and Ashante and great-grandchildren, Layci, Mattee and Adalynn; as well as siblings Barbara Rice, Charlie Cornell Jr. and Patty Kacalek and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 5 at Life Center Church at 1202 North Government Way, Spokane, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision or YWCA.
