“Red”

Harold “Red” F. Kafer passed away on July 26, 2012.

He was born on October 15, 1922 in Bismarck, ND to Orville and Corinne Kafer.

As a young boy he moved with his family to Clarkston, WA graduating from Clarkston High School in 1940.

After spending time in California, Red moved to Cheney, WA where he worked and attended Eastern Washington State College graduating in 1952 with a B.A.

Degree in Education.
While in Cheney he met Louise Doreen Spear and they were married in Cheney on June 7, 1952.

Soon after marrying they moved to Quincy, WA where he began his teaching career and they made their home for the next 40 years.

In 1992 Red and Doreen moved to Spokane where they resided until moving to Bothell four years ago.
Red is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise Doreen Kafer of Bothell, WA; daughters, Diane Kafer of Phoenix, AZ, Cheryl Kellerhals (Matthew) of Bothell, WA; three grandchildren, Dr. Natalie Eggum of Phoenix, AZ, Stephan Eggum of Bloomington, IN, Nick Eggum of Flagstaff, AZ and his brother Pat Kafer, Edmonds, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marge Delaney, Gene Vannoy and brothers, Orville “Bud” Kafer and Howard Kafer.
A memorial service will be held in Spokane at a later date.
