Bob was born on November 7, 1933 in Spokane, WA to Raymon Everett Moylan and Susanna Helena (Houger) Moylan.

Through death, he was welcomed into the loving arms of his heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 15, 2012.

Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Ann (Larson) Moylan, a retired teacher and musician.

They have resided at Riverview Lutheran Retirement Community in Spokane for the last six years.
Bob attended Stevens and Franklin Elementary and North Central High schools in Spokane.

The couple met while students at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, from which Bob earned a BA in Sociology.

Following college Bob and Pat went separate ways - Bob into the U.S. Marine Corps and Pat to teaching and graduate school.

Later they resumed their relationship and were married in Minneapolis, MN on June 18, 1960, while bob was a student at Augsburg Seminary.

Before finishing his final seminary year Bob worked as a social caseworker in Seattle, during which time his sons David and Jeffrey were born.
Bob’s final year of seminary was at Gettysburg, PA where he earned an MDiv.

degree.

In 1966 he was ordained in his home congregation - Bethany Lutheran, Spokane.

Later, Bob earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Western Seminary.

During Bob’s first pastoral call in Madras, OR, their daughter, Gracia, joined the family.

Bob held other pastorates in Burien, Port Angeles, and Lynnwood, WA as well as Eugene, OR.

In addition to congregational pastorates, Bob served as an Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the North Pacific District of the American Lutheran Church, and as Academic Dean at the Lutheran Bible Institute (now Trinity Lutheran College).

After retirement Bob served interim pastorates in Jackson, WY, Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia, and Edmonds, WA.
Besides his wife and three children, Bob is survived by seven grandchildren (Geoffrey and Jeremy Moylan, Mishaela and Mitchell Martinson, and Shannon, Kelly and Katherine Moylan) and a sister, Margaret.

His parents, a brother, Edward, and two sisters, Marie Rooks and Virginia Willms Levitch, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division, Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN, Trinity Lutheran College, Everett, WA, Riverview Care Center, Spokane or a charity of choice.
